Full Score

Updates in Progress #

We are currently updating all Full Scores. You may come across some older versions of Full Score for a short time. This help page is updated to match our most recent Full Score versions.

Full Score displays the sheet music for many Quaver songs. Teachers can use Full Score to practice songs in class with students, teach notation, or any other creative use. There are options to show and hide instruments, turn on and off score highlighting, and adjust playback elements such as key, tempo, and loop. Score navigation is easy, and teachers can zoom in on sets of measures for instructional purposes.

Full Score screens can be found in ClassPlay, Quaver Curriculum, or Resource Manager.

Show and Hide Parts #

In songs with multiple parts, you can hide individual parts by selecting the instrument name in the menu and clicking Hide Part. You can also solo them by clicking Solo Part.

The Options menu will include a Show All Parts option, too.

Score Highlighting  #

A song’s instrumentation is listed at the top and will be updated based on the song. Clicking on an instrument name reveals a dropdown menu where you can set highlighting preferences individually: Measure Highlighting, Note Highlighting, or Off.

**Scores are automatically set to Note Highlight mode. To change this for each part select the relevant colored boxes and select measure or off.**

Highlighting by measure means each measure will highlight as it is played back. Similarly, highlighting by note means each note will highlight as it is played back. Use the Options menu to adjust highlighting for all parts simultaneously by selecting either All Measures ON or All Notes ON.

Scrolling #

When pressing the Play button, the score will automatically follow the song’s audio, moving the page as the music progresses.

Early Scrolling #

To move the page ahead of the beat, go to OPTIONS and set EARLY SCROLL to 1,2,3 or 4 measures.

Horizontal Scrolling #

Go to OPTIONS and select MORE OPTIONS > Horizontal. This will scroll the score horizontally.

Focusing on Measures #

To focus on a single measure, simply select that measure. To focus on a two-measure section, double-click the first measure. Select any measure once to return to the full score.

This feature is useful for focusing on specific measures in a class setting.  For example, a teacher may wish to pinpoint and address measures needing attention.

To select whether measures are shown every measure or alternating measures, go to Options then More Options.

Full Screen #

The Full Screen button is located at the bottom of the screen and will widen the score so you can see more of it.

Zoom   #

You can use your computer keys, fingers on a smartboard, or the Options menu to increase the size of the notes.

Select Area #

Use your computer mouse or fingers on the score to select and highlight an area with a green box. This area will then display.

Playback Elements #

  • Use the Mixer pop-up to adjust the volume of the song’s parts, such as Vocals, Instruments, or Track. You can toggle Mute/Unmute individual parts.
  • The overall volume of the song can be adjusted using the slider in the Master Volume section. Toggle Mute/Unmute using the Speaker icon to the slider’s left.
  • Quickly return to the start of the song by selecting the Back button.
  • Select the Play button to start playback. During playback, select again to Pause.
  • During playback, the song will paginate automatically. Drag the blue circle or select any location within the timeline to navigate through the song. When the song is paused or stopped, use the  Prev and Next arrows to paginate through the score.
  • Set the Loop button to the ON position to auto-repeat the audio each time the song ends.

Choose from three Key or Tempo options using the buttons in the bottom right corner of the page.
