Overview #
Select Screen Studio to create and customize your own Quaver screen. It contains a variety of helpful templates to get you started, as well as the Web Link, Video Link, File Upload, and Multimedia functionalities from older versions of Resource Creation.
Customization functionality does not grant permission to upload copyrighted audio, video, graphics, or other protected content.
Upon opening Screen Studio, you’ll come to the default starting screen.
In the center, you’ll see your screen title box. You’ll need to title your screen in order to save it.
On the left, you’ll see your undo button.
On the right is the Notes, Save, Help, and Exit buttons.
Video Instructions #
Educators can now include Video Instructions within the Notes of their custom screens! Select Notes, then Video Instructions to upload a video and include a transcript! When this resource is selected in Resource Manager, there will be a video icon above the preview, which opens the video instructions.
Screen Studio Toolbar #
At the top of your Screen Studio app, you’ll find your toolbar. This is where all of the multimedia options for building your screen live.
Selecting each of these icons will either open a Properties Menu on right side of your screen or a Media Portfolio pop-up.
Edit #
The Edit button holds the Cut, Copy, Paste, and Paste in Place options.
View #
The View button opens a small dropdown with options to preview the screen and open the Accessibility Panel, where you can add alt text for screen readers.
Templates #
The Templates button offers an organized selection of screens to use or build off of. *Note that loading a template will remove all previous work done on the screen – loading a template should be the first thing done on a custom screen, if applicable.*
Background #
When you select Background, you will be able to choose between adding a background color or a background image. If you have a background already on the page, you can also choose Remove Background to delete it.
Selecting Background Image… will open the Media Portfolio pop-up.
Media Portfolio #
Media Portfolio is where you can search for and add stock backgrounds, as well as upload your own images, backgrounds, and audio files.
Maximum pixel size for uploaded images is 8192×6144
*Select Images or Audio before selecting Upload to My Media to open the correct pop-up*
Text, Hyperlink, and File Upload #
Selecting the Text button on the toolbar menu gives you these options for building a text box.
–Five font options: Myriad Bold, Myriad Regular, House Holiday, Poppins, Roboto Slab
–Size
-Color
–Stroke Color
–Stroke Size
–Spacing
–Alignment (for text)
-Center horizontally or vertically within your screen
When your text box is highlighted, you will also have three buttons available to you, as well as details on box position, size, and layering.
The Edit button will open more options for text formatting, including Bold, Italix, Underline, and Bullet-Points.
The Link… button allows you to add a web link to the text box, or upload a file.
Image #
Selecting Image will open your Media Portfolio.
Maximum pixel size for uploaded images is 8192×6144
Audio #
Selecting Audio will open your Media Portfolio.
Shape #
The shape tool lets you create content boxes anywhere on your screen.
You can change the color of the background, add and adjust a border, and choose from a circular or squared shape.
By selecting within the created shape, you open a menu where you can move, resize, align, attach files and URL links, adjust the layer placement, and delete.
Video #
By selecting the More Tools button at the end of your toolbar, you’ll open a small drop-down menu. Select Video… to open your Add Video pop-up.
Flipcard #
Flipcards are buttons that can be repeatedly selected to swap between two different images and alt text.
You can create your own Flipcards by selected Create Your Own! on the Flipcard Selection screen. Then you will upload two images, the front and back of the card. Alt Text for both sides can be added here as well. Select OK when you’re finished.
Finding Your Custom Screen #
Once you’ve completed and saved your screen, head to your My Custom Screens folder in Resource Manager to view your finished work. This screen will remain in this folder ready to be added to a custom lesson or assignment at any time!
I would like to see us have the ability to edit multiple screens at once like Google Slides or PowerPoint. This would save time on the back end adding screens one at a time into a folder/lesson.

Is there a way to make a screen with multiple slides on it?

Sorry, but the current functionality of Screen Studio only allows for one screen to be made at a time. The individual screens can be compiled in Resource Manager to make a custom lesson, though. Check out this page for more information, or feel free to reach out to our customer service team for more direct assistance, or to give feedback!
I am really enjoying creating screens to supplement the lessons! Is there a way to edit the screen once it has been saved? ( like to fix a spelling error) Also, is it possible to save our own templates to easily recreate similar screens? I have looked around and I am not seeing it but perhaps I am missing it.
