QRewards allows teachers to reward students for positive behaviors by awarding QuaverNotes, a virtual currency that students can redeem for rewards. This system encourages students to develop good habits over time.

Important! #
While all QuaverEd products support awarding and redeeming QuaverNotes, QRewards features operate independently within each product. For example, if you award QuaverNotes in QuaverMusic, the student will only see them in their QuaverMusic account, even if they also use QuaverReady.
Getting Started with QRewards
Before using QRewards, ensure that:
- Your classes and student accounts are set up. If your district is rostered, this is done automatically. If not, you may need to create student accounts manually.
- You have reviewed the default Desired Behaviors and Reward Categories, which can be customized to fit your classroom needs.
The QRewards Dashboard, seen below, allows you to navigate all sections of QRewards. You can award or redeem QuaverNotes, view class or student transactions, set up behaviors and rewards, and access your classes and students.

QRewards Setup #
Teachers can tailor QRewards to their classrooms by modifying behavior and reward categories.
Desired Behaviors #
Students can earn QuaverNotes for demonstrating specific behaviors. We have added several categories and items to help get you started:
- Character Traits: Honesty, kindness, respect, responsibility, etc.
- Classroom Behaviors: Following class rules, Helping others in class, Volunteering to help the teacher, etc.
- Life Readiness Skills: Relationship Skills, Responsible Decision-Making, Self-awareness, Self-management, Social awareness.
Teachers can also add, edit, or remove Categories and Items in the Desired Behaviors Setup menu.

Student Rewards/Cost #
Teachers can redeem QuaverNotes for students who demonstrate specific behaviors. This action deducts QuaverNotes from the student’s balance in exchange for an item you create here. We have added several categories and items to help you get started.
Teachers can also add, edit, or remove categories and items in the Student Rewards/Cost Setup menu.

Awarding QuaverNotes #
The Award QuaverNotes windows contain options to award to entire classes or individual students.
To award QuaverNotes:
- Select a class from the dropdown menu.
- Choose one or more students.
- Select a behavior category (e.g., “Helping Others”).
- Select or enter the amount of QuaverNotes (up to 100 per award).
- Add a personal note for the student. (Optional)
- Click Save to finalize.

Student Notification #
When awarded QuaverNotes, students with Quaver accounts will receive a notification on their student dashboard. Below is a screenshot of the message students will see.
If a student does not have a Quaver account, the teacher can provide a coupon indicating the amount of QuaverNotes awarded. These coupons can be downloaded below, printed, cut out, and filled in by the teacher.

Redeeming #
When redeeming QuaverNotes, you’ll follow a process similar to awarding them. However, instead of selecting a behavior, you’ll choose a ‘Redemption Choice’ tied to a specific QuaverNote amount. This feature can be used for extra recess or lunch with the teacher. Optionally, you can provide a reason for the redemption before clicking Save.
To redeem QuaverNotes:
- Select a class from the dropdown menu.
- Choose one student. You can view students balances to the right of their name.
- Choice a Redemption Item (e.g., “Line Leader”).
- (Optional) Add a personal note for the student.
- Click Save to finalize.

Reports #
Teachers can monitor awarded and redeemed QuaverNotes using the Reports.
Class Transactions #
The Class Transactions report shows all QuaverNotes awarded or redeemed within a class, along with recipients, dates, and reasons. When a transaction includes more than one recipient, click the row to view the transaction details with names.
Use the dropdown at the top to switch between classes.

Student Balances #
The Student Balances report provides a summary of each student’s QuaverNotes.
From left to right, it includes:
- First Name and Last Name
- Last Transaction Date – this also includes transaction reason notes, if applicable.
- Amount – Last transaction amount.
- Balance – Current Balance in the student’s account.
- Awarded to Date – the total number of QuaverNotes awarded to date.
Use the dropdown at the top to switch between classes and view students in each class.

Student Transactions
Select a student to view their detailed transaction history, including rewards, redemptions, and student purchases from their accounts. The panel also shows their current QuaverNote balance.
