Student Accounts

You will need to have at least one class already set up to add student accounts to that class. If you want more information on this, view our help video on Creating Classes.

Quaver allows teachers to set up individual student accounts. These accounts provide students with a dashboard where they can view and complete assignments and access various activities.

Adding Student Accounts #

  • Add Existing Accounts
  • Auto-Generate Accounts
  • Student Import
  • Enroll Using Class Code
  • District Rostering

When adding students to a class, you may have students that already have a QuaverEd student account.

  1. Select your class at the top of Admin Tools>Student Accounts.
  2. Click Add Student Accounts.
  3. Click Add Existing Student Account.

A window will appear where you can enter student information. The student’s username is all that is required. However, you can add information such as their Student ID, First Name, Last Name, and Display Name.

Since classes typically consist of a large number of students, it can be useful to create individual student accounts in bulk.

  1. Select your class at the top of Admin Tools> Student Accounts.
  2. Click Add Student Accounts > Auto-Generate Student Accounts button.
  3. Enter the desired number of student accounts.

This will auto-generate accounts and usernames and set the class code as the password for all new accounts.

Students will log in at QuaverEd.com/login and use the autogenerated username and class code as the password to log in. Students will be prompted to create a permanent password on their first log-in.

The Student Importer allows a teacher to upload a spreadsheet with all students and class information to the Quaver system to generate student accounts.

  1. Select your class at the top of Admin Tools>Student Accounts.
  2. Click on Add Student Accounts > Student Importer.
  3. Download the New Student Import Template and fill it out with your students information. The expected file type is csv, xls, or xlsx. The maximum file size is 3.0MB.
  4. When you’re ready, upload your Student Import file! We’ll validate the file and let you know if we see any issues. Once your file looks good to go, you can proceed to Import!

The only required student information is the class code, email address, and password.

  1. Take a class code that you generated when creating a class.
  2. Next, have the students visit QuaverEd.com/log-in and click the Sign Up! button.
  3. Then students will click Student button.
  4. Students enter the Class Code given to them by the teacher then click Continue.

This will prompt the students to create their own usernames and passwords. The username must be 6 characters, and the password must be 8 characters. Confirm the password and click the SUBMIT button to finish.

Students can then log in from QuaverEd.com/login from here on out!

QuaverEd’s Integration team can work with your district to create student accounts. This method, called rostering, can be a tremendous timesaver for you. You will not have to create classes manually; students will not have to create account credentials.

If you choose to roster through your district, students must access their accounts through platforms, like, Classlink, Clever, Canvas, Schoology, and Google. This access method is referred to as Single Sign-On, or SSO.

If you would like to set up student accounts through your district, have your district administrator contact our team at integrations@QuaverEd.com.

Editing Student Accounts #

The second way to edit student information is to select the student in the roster, then click the Edit Student button. Here you can modify student information, reset student’s passwords, and archive students.

The “Archived” option allows you to hide a student from your class list but still access their info, should you need it.

Enable grid editing:

The Enable Grid Editing checkbox lets you quickly edit the text in any of the cells within the student accounts window. Press Enter to confirm the changes.

To turn off this feature anytime, deselect the checkbox.

Removing Student Accounts #

You can also remove a student entirely from a class. To do this, select the student then click the Remove From Class button.

Note this will not delete the student account entirely, it will simply remove them from your class. If you would like to re-add them to a class at any time, use the Add Existing Student Account option. You will need their username if you wish to do this, so it may be prudent to keep a list of usernames on hand.

Some of my students are not allowed access to create a student account. It says ” “There was a problem registering your account. Please contact our customer support team for assistance.” What can I do to fix this for them?

      Hi Amanda!

This could vary depending on the student. I would recommend contacting our Customer Support team by phone at 866-917-3633 or by email at info@QuaverEd.com. Provide Customer Support with a few examples of the issues you are encountering, and they will resolve the situation as soon as possible.

I’m trying to add a student to a class but it is saying it is the wrong class code. I’m looking at the class code in the classes that already exist. How can it be wrong if this class code already exists?

So, I have new students come and go, right? Well, they have an email but no display name or identity and therefore, no account. The District, (Irving) put the names and such in there for us but there are MANY students who aren’t correct in my student accounts and I cannot do anything to fix it. HALP!!! Thank you.

Is there a way to search for a particular student no matter what class they are in?

      Hi Jeff!

As a teacher, you cannot search for particular students in your account. However, our Customer Service team can search for students regardless of their class. Feel free to get in touch with us via the dashboard chat, phone (866-917-3633), or email (info@quavered.com).

How can you delete multiple students at a time? This is the first time classes have been carried over from a previous school year. Strangely enough, it’s showing that all students are part of their class from 1-1-24 through 6-1-25! Since I only have students for a semester, I’m having to change a LOT of information for each class!

      Hi Melissa!

Currently, there isn’t a way to delete or archive multiple students at a time. The only way to remove multiple students from a class is to archive the entire class. However, since your students and their assignments are already linked to specific classes, a workaround would be to rename the classes and adjust the end date to reflect your current semester, which would prevent you from manually changing a lot of individual information.

If you need to move a student to a different class, you can provide them with a new class code and then remove them from the old class.

I would also highly recommend reaching out to our Customer Support team. They can gain a better understanding of your issue and provide more tailored assistance.

Hello. My district has given us access to Quaver. I do not have any classes or students as of now. In the past, I had to sync Google classroom with Quaver and everything populated. Is there action i should take?

Hi Anthony! Sorry for the delayed response. To gain access to all the classes and student rosters through your district, you’ll need to log in to your Quaver account via Clever. I see that your teacher account is synced with your district’s Clever, and I can see the students in your Gradebook, so you should be all set up. It looks like your district switched from Google to Clever at some point.

    Greetings!
Thank you for all you do. Hope you & yours are well:)
If you please, share how to adjust the number of accounts in a class? I accidentally added too many when I wanted to change the number.
    Best wishes,

      Hi Cherie!

Thank you for the kind words! When you’re in Student Admin > Student Accounts, select the row of the account you’d like to remove, then click ‘Remove From Class’ at the bottom of the window. Unfortunately, there isn’t a bulk removal tool available at this time. I hope this helps!

I rotate with PE. Our 6th graders are doing pre-athletics. So I have boys in one class on M/W and girls in the other on T/Th. Our district loaded them in according to homerooms.

Is there a way to create boys and girls classes to reflect how I see the students? Without creating new student accounts, etc?

      Hi Kaci!

Neither we at Quaver nor you, as the teacher user, have the ability to edit your class rosters when going through your district. Your district’s tech team holds the administrative permissions to manage your roster structure. I would recommend reaching out to your district/school tech team to the edit roster data, so it can appear in your Quaver account the correct way.

If your tech team needs assistance, please have them reach out directly to our Implementation Team at Implementation@QuaverEd.com.

      Thank you!

I have students that have created an account, and I have assigned lessons to them, but they cannot click on the Assignments circle, because it is shaded. So, they have had to share with another student; I do not know how to fix this.

      Hi Lani!

If your students have accounts and you’ve assigned lessons, but they cannot access the assignments, this may indicate that their accounts are not properly linked to your class. First, double check that each student is correctly associated with your class. For detailed instruction on how to add a student, please watch the videos and read the instructions here. If a student is not linked to the class, they won’t have access to the assignments you’ve assigned.

Second, check assignment distribution, confirming that the assignments have been given to the correct class that the students are linked to. If the assignment isn’t associated with the student’s class, they won’t see it in their dashboard.

If these steps don’t work, please don’t hesitate to reach out again, and we will troubleshoot more!

Is there a way to let students access a quaver game (staff lines) using several chrome books in my classroom? Do I need to set up accounts for each one?

      Hi Cindy!

Yes—students can absolutely access a Quaver game like Staff Lines on multiple Chromebooks in your classroom.

As long as each student has their own Quaver student username and password, they can log in on Chromebooks. There’s no need to set up separate accounts for each device—just have them log in using their existing credentials.

      I hope this helps!

    Hi!
When I go into Student Accounts, I can see all of my classes are synced with my district. However, only a few students have usernames and only a few have been able to log in. The options available in the video (such as resetting their password and changing their names) is not available to me. The students can’t log in using the class code and Clever is not logging them in either…

      Hi Christopher!

Thanks for reaching out—and I’m sorry to hear you’re running into this! Since your classes are synced with the district and you’re seeing limited login options, the best next step is to contact our support team directly. They’ll be able to take a closer look and help troubleshoot. You may also have to involve your district/school tech team to edit any roster data.

Please reach out to info@quavered.com or give us a call at 866-917-3633. Let us know if we can help with anything else!
