The QRewards tool in Student Admin allows teachers to reward students with QuaverNotes, a virtual currency for purchasing items for their Avatars or Music Rooms on their dashboard or QuaverStreet. Teachers can award an unlimited number of QuaverNotes.
Before using QRewards, ensure that classes and student accounts are set up.
QRewards Menu
From the QRewards home page, you can navigate to various sections of the tool, including:
Award/Redeem QuaverNotes #
The Award and Redeem QuaverNotes windows contain options to award to entire classes or individual students.
Rewarding #
Select a class from the dropdown menu at the top, then choose all or specific students within that class. Use the “Behavior Categories” dropdown to select a reason for the reward, specify a QuaverNote amount (up to 100), and optionally provide a note to the student. Click Save to finalize the award.
Redeeming #
Similar to awarding, but you select a “Redemption Choice” tied to a QuaverNote amount. This can be used for activities such as extra recess time or lunch with the teacher. Optionally, provide a reason for redemption before clicking Save.
Student Notification #
Students will be notified of awarded QuaverNotes in their accounts, along with any teacher message. Redemptions, however, do not generate notifications.
Reports #
The Rewards screen contains two different view types: Class Transactions and Student Balances.
Class Transactions #
You can view a record of all QuaverNotes awarded or redeemed within a class. Each transaction lists recipients, reasons, dates, and amounts. Clicking on a transaction with multiple recipients provides a detailed list of students involved.
Student Balances #
View a detailed summary of QuaverNotes for each student, including:
From left to right, it includes:
- First Name and Last Name
- Last Transaction Date – this also includes transaction reason notes, if applicable.
- Amount – Last transaction amount.
- Balance – Current Balance in the student’s account.
- Awarded to Date – the total number of QuaverNotes awarded to date.
Use the dropdown at the top to switch between classes and view students in each class.
Student Transactions #
Select a student to view their detailed transaction history, including rewards, redemptions, and student purchases from their accounts. The panel also shows their current QuaverNote balance.
QRewards Setup #
In the Setup section, you can add, edit, and remove Class PBIS categories to customize how students are rewarded or have QuaverNotes redeemed. For example, if you want to recognize good classroom behavior, such as being an Active Listener, you can add it as a default reason to select when awarding QuaverNotes to a student.
Desired Behaviors #
On the left side of the window, you’ll see a list of Rewards Categories, where you can add, edit, or remove categories.
On the right side of the window, you can manage specific items within each category. Here, you also have the option to add, edit, or remove items.
The Desired Behaviors you add will be available when rewarding students QuaverNotes.
Student Rewards/Cost #
On the left side of the window, you’ll see a list of Behavior Categories, where you can add, edit, or remove categories.
On the right side of the window, you can manage specific rewards and their associated costs within each category. Here, you also have the option to add, edit, or remove reward items.
The rewards and costs you define will be available when redeeming students’ QuaverNotes.
