Quaver Street

Overview

With a QuaverMusic teacher or student account, you have access to a seriously fun world made just for you!  This documentation will give you an overview of the resources available as a part of Quaver Street.

Prerequisites

You should already have a Quaver username and password. If you need login instructions or help to access your account, please reach out to our team at Info@QuaverEd.com.

When you log in to your account, you will first be taken to your Dashboard – Student Dashboard for Student Accounts and Teacher Dashboard for Teachers! Click the To Quaver Street button in the top left to access Quaver Street or the Quaver Street icon.

Avatars

Each Quaver user has an avatar that can be customized on Quaver Street. Click on your avatar to customize. The My Avatar editor allows users to select features such as hair style and facial features, as well as clothing items, instruments, and more!

Click the green DOWNLOAD button under the avatar to download an image of your custom avatar.

Apps

Clicking the green Apps tab on Quaver Street allows you to view a menu of the composition applications available on Quaver Street and where you can find them throughout Quaver Street. Select a Creative to launch the application. 

Contests

Clicking the blue Contests tab on Quaver Street allows students to enter composition contests using four Creatives: QGrooves, QStrum, QComposer, and QBackBeat. 

Click ENTER to submit a composition. Students can choose between three levels of play: Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Bronze allows for three participants, Silver allows for six participants, and Gold allows for 12 participants. Their competitors could be any students with a QuaverMusic account! Each contest allows students that are not participants to vote on submitted compositions and allows participants to earn a select number of points based on rankings. These points are merely for fun and cannot be used on the site. 

Select RATE to vote in ongoing contests. Select RESULTS to see your ranking in each contest. Select STATS to see how submitted songs have ranked in each contest they have been entered in.

Metro

The Metro section of Quaver Street allows users to take virtual field trips and explore musical styles around the world. 

The Metro features the following venues:

  • Ballet Theater
  • Blues Street
  • Classical Music Hall
  • Country Showcase
  • Disco Club
  • Folk Festival
  • Heavy Metal Concert
  • Hip Hop Bowl
  • Jazz Club
  • Latin Club
  • Pop Music Stadium
  • Reggae Beach
  • Rock Concert
  • Showtunes City

Select a venue from the DEPARTURES board to access that venue and all associated activities. 

Click the ACTIVITIES tab at the bottom of the screen to select from a menu of activities including: 

  • Info – watch a short animated video about that musical style
  • Book – read the Basic or Advanced QuaverBook about that musical style
  • Map – view an animated map of where the venue is located
  • Music – listen to a playlist of songs in that musical style
  • Puzzle – complete a jigsaw puzzle featuring the scene on the main page of the venue
  • Matching Game – match cards featuring significant composers of that musical style

Kids

Back on Quaver Street, click the yellow KIDS ENTER HERE sign on the green door to access the Music Shop, Lab, and Studio that make up Quaver Street. 

Music Shop

Welcome to Quaver’s Shop! From here, students can access SongBrush or explore Quaver’s Phone Box.

Phonebox

Click Quaver’s Phone Box to travel through time and learn about musical concepts and different composers including:

  • Madrigal Singers
  • Cristofori’s Pianoforte
  • Antonio Vivaldi
  • Ludwig Van Beethoven
  • Francis Scott Key
  • Claude Debussy
  • John Philip Sousa

Select a name to access all associated activities. 

Click the ACTIVITIES tab at the bottom of the screen to select from a menu of activities including: 

  • Info – watch a short animated video about the group or composer
  • Book – read the Basic or Advanced QuaverBook about the group or composer
  • Map – view an animated map of where that composer or group is located
  • Music – listen to a playlist of songs by that group or composer
  • Puzzle – complete a jigsaw puzzle featuring an image of the group or composer
  • Matching Game – play a fun card matching game related to the musical concepts 

Lab

The Lab features ear training drills, apps to dissect sound waves, and add sound effects to silent movies. Here, you’ll find Ear IQ, QSynth, and QSoundFx. Be sure to say hello to Gwenda!

Studio

The Studio is your one-stop-shop for composition tools. Here, you’ll find QStrum, QBackBeat Lite, QComposer Lite, and QGrooves Lite. Be sure to say hello to Austin Otto!
