Resource Creation

Overview

The Resource Creation menu equips teachers with the ability to customize existing teacher resources and to create resources from scratch. Select any icon to create a custom screen unique to your QuaverHealth•PE account. Once saved, the new resources will be saved to your My Custom Screens folder in Resource Manager.

Multimedia

Select Multimedia to open the screen editor. Here you can combine custom text, images or audio in one presentation slide.

Options to change the theme, text, image, and audio are found on the left side of the screen. Multimedia screens can hold up to 10 images and 10 audio files.

Builder Tools

Checklist Builder

The Checklist Builder can be used to create interactive checklists to include in lessons or assignments.

Give your checklist a title by entering text at the top of the screen.

Enter the first item on your checklist but clicking the box that reads Sample Checklist Item and entering text.

Select +Add New at the bottom of the screen to add another item to your list.

Quiz Builder

Quiz Builder allows you to create custom quizzes to use in class or distribute to student accounts.

The Quiz Builder is divided into two sections. Customize any question you create or bring in questions from the Quaver question bank on the right. A search and automation tool will be coming soon.

Begin by giving your quiz a title by entering text in the box at the top of the screen.

You can build your custom quiz by dragging and dropping questions from the Quiz Bank on the left of the screen or by creating your own custom questions.

Creating Questions from Scratch

To create a question from scratch, select + Add New at the bottom of the screen.

  • Enter the custom question text by clicking Question Text
  • Enter the custom answer text by clicking Answer Text
  • Select the red “X” to remove a question
  • Select + Add Answer to add an answer option

Search and Automation

A search capability will soon be implemented that will allow you to use questions from the Quaver Bank in your Custom Quiz.

Print your quiz by selecting Menu and Print Quiz. This will open a printable PDF version of your quiz.

Rubric Builder

Create an interactive Rubric to use in a custom lesson or assignment using Rubric Builder.

Begin by giving your rubric a title by entering text in the box at the top of the screen.

To build a new rubric:

  • Click the orange Sample Criteria cell in the left-hand column to enter rubric criteria
  • Click the green “+” to add a row to the rubric
  • Click the red “X” to delete a row from the rubric
  • Click the orange Sample Scoring Text across the top of the rubric to enter the scoring levels and points that should be awarded at each level

Use previous rubrics to create templates by selecting Load Template and selecting what rubric you would like to use.

A printable PDF version of the rubric will be available when completed. Select Menu and Print Rubric to open a printable PDF version of the rubric.

Quiz Challenge

Create gameshow-style assessments with flexible options for team play with Quiz Challenge.

Click the individual boxes at the top of the board to enter your own categories. Questions can be created below each category. Name your game at the top of the screen.

Question text and multimedia can be added by clicking the point boxes. Click the red “X” to delete a column or row on your board.

On the left-hand side of the screen, locate the Manage Teams button. Here you can add up to four teams and change team names. Customize settings like board control and answer time in Settings. Adjust point values with the Points Multiplier setting option.

Recording Tools

Student Recording

Utilize Student Recording to create a custom screen that allows students to record themselves in the context of a lesson or assignment.

Ttile the screen recording by entering text in the box at the top of the screen.

Select Add/Edit Notes to add notes or instructions to the screen.

When added to an assignment, students will see this title along with the added notes and instructions.

If browser settings allow, students will be able to record directly into the Student Recording screen. Currently, only Firefox and Google Chrome browsers support recording directly into the screen.

If camera and microphone settings are not enabled in the browser, students can click Select File to browser their .mov and .mp4 files to attach to the screen. Students can preview their video before submitting by selecting Play Back. Videos can be up to 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Teachers can review student submissions from the Assignment Review screen by clicking on the Submitted icon in your GradeBook.

Teacher Recording

Teachers can record videos within the platform or upload a video to be played in your custom lesson or assignment using Teacher Recording.

Give the custom video a title by entering text in the box at the top of the screen.

To record a video directly into the screen (currently available in Firefox and Chrome):

  • Select Record to record a video
  • Select Stop when you are done recording
  • Click Play Back to watch the recording

To upload a previously recorded Video:

  • Select Choose File
  • Upload an .mp4 or .mov file (300 MB limit)

There is a 5-minute limit on video length for this screen.

Upload Tools

Audio Upload

Select Audio Upload to create your own playlist to add to a lesson or assignment.

Give your screen a title in the text box labeled Sample Playlist Title.

When you are ready to upload, select Choose File on the left-hand side of the screen and select the MP3 file from its location on your computer. Continue adding MP3s to create your desired playlist.

Once uploaded, select the title or artist text to edit these details, preview the song, or remove the song.

File Upload

File Upload allows you to include documents or other PDFs right in the context of your lesson or assignment.

Give your screen a title by entering text in the box labeled Title.

Select Choose File and select the file from its location on your computer to add it to your lesson or assignment.

Web Link

Use the Web Link tool to link a website from outside Quaver within a lesson or assignment.

Give your screen a title by entering text in the box labeled Title.

Copy and paste the web link to add into the URL section.

Select Preview to see how the link will appear in your lesson or assignment.

Video Link

The Video Link tool links YouTube or Vimeo video within a lesson or assignment.

Title your screen by entering text in the box labeled Title.

Copy and paste the YouTube or Vimeo link into the Video URL section.

Select Preview to see how the video will appear in your lesson or assignment.
